Ehh Snuggles

Sgt. Snuggles On the Middle East

The Middle East is an incredibly unstable region. I know. I’ve served there. Desert Storm baby! It was difficult to be at war, serving your duty as a soldier, while also trying maintaining your humanity. My faith pulled me through. I fully support our troops through their struggle. I just can’t believe that they’re not home yet. I thought we got all the oil the first time. Now that’s just greedy. Including the 200 billion dollars assigned for 2009 fiscal year, the US has spent 800 billion dollars on Middle Eastern war efforts. Well over 600,000 Iraqi civilians, 4,122 US soldier, and over 8,000 Iraqi soldiers and officers, have died. Look at the Damage.

I am in total opposition to Iran developing nuclear capabilities. But, at this point, I am against anything nuclear. I used to like the rap group Newcleus. I can’t event listen to them now.

Because of personal ties to the troops, I vow that they will not be abandoned. VA hospital are ran with poor care, limited options, and in some case soldiers are just left to die over a simple infection. I promise to flood money into the VA hospitals so that returning soldiers will get the care deserving of heroes. Tricare is an infuriating operation. My plan is to reform Tricare so that no one gets a denial letter. We need sensitivity for the trauma suffered by my fellow comrades. I know what kind of half-hearted reception my fellow soldiers receive when they return home. That so called GI bill barely put me through community college. My platform will give soldiers a full ride to any school of their choice and not just partial aid.

What about mental rest and health care? Do you know what it’s like to have your best friend die right beside you as you risk your own life? This current administration tells you to just walk it off when you come home. They hide the caskets with entertainment gossip and sports news; more than 4,000 deaths so far, with no end in sight.

This current administration doesn’t care for our troops at all. They use them up and leave them to fend for themselves when they return. That is the most disgusting act of war: betrayal.

I am in total opposition to Iran developing nuclear capabilities. But, at this point, I am against anything nuclear. I used to like the rap group Newcleus. I can’t event listen to them now. And “Jam on It” was a classic!

In this tense atmosphere, a country with those faculties will undoubtedly use them as threats. And we don’t need anyone provoking the U.S to drop more bombs on innocent men, women, and children throughout the world.
